About Patricia Jalomo, DNP, WHNP-BC, BCB-PMD

Patricia Jalomo is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Pelvic Physiotherapist. She completed both her Masters of Science in Nursing and Doctorate in Nursing Practice degrees at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to providing general women’s health care, she specializes in female urology and sexual health. Patricia is uniquely qualified as the only Nurse Practitioner in Arizona to be board certified by the highly recognized Biofeedback Certification International Alliance in Pelvic Muscle Dysfunction (BCB-PMD). As the sole clinician in a successful pelvic floor rehabilitation program, she has gained valuable experience using surface electromyography, anorectal manometry, electric muscle stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, and myofascial release techniques to treat a wide variety of female pelvic disorders. By combining non-surgical therapies and behavioral modifications with the option of pharmaceuticals, women who suffer from urinary and fecal incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and sexual dysfunction have seen significant improvements in their quality of life. Additionally, she has had training in visceral mobilization, percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation and yoga for pelvic pain.

Patricia is an adjunct faculty member and instructor for the University of Phoenix, as well as a student preceptor for the University of Arizona’s Family Nurse Practitioner program. She has developed a women’s only educational forum called “Girl Talk” that addresses topics including urinary incontinence, bowel disorders, sex after menopause, chronic urinary tract infections, overactive bladder, bioidentical hormone therapy, and sexual assistive devices. She believes in lifelong learning and is very passionate about helping women to realize that these issues do not have to be an accepted part of life.

Additionally, Patricia is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer and health coach. In her free time, she enjoys weight training, cycling, running, and traveling with her two grown children and granddaughter. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Arizona Nurses Association, Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates, and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.
