Our staff at Quality of Life Medical & Research Center (QLMRC) is able to take care of your laboratory needs.  With our close affiliation with Tiburon Diagnostic Laboratory, Sonora Quest Lab, Specialty Lab and LabCorp we can take care of all of your laboratory needs.

If, your needs include routine or esoteric blood analysis, urinalysis, sexually transmitted disease screening, drug screening or anonymous lab testing we can assist you at QLMRC. For a modest fee, QLMRC can arrange to have a phlebotomist sent to your home or job site, saving you time and inconvenience.

IRON DEFICIENCY – 2 STUDIES
Inclusion Criteria:
Males or females > 18 years of age and able to give informed consent
Iron deficiency is the primary etiology of anemia
Screening Hgb < 11g/dl for one study or Hgb < 12 g/dl for the other
Screening ferritin < 100 ng/ml or < 300 when TSAT is < 30%
Exclusion Criteria:
Previous participation in a ferric carboxymaltose clinical trial
Hypersensitivity reaction to any component of ferric carboxymaltose
Requires dialysis for chronic kidney disease

Hypertension in Over-Weight Patients
Inclusion Criteria:
Males or females > 18 years of age and able to give informed consent
Must have  hypertension;  > 160mmHg and < 200 mmHg
Must have BMI > 30 kg/m2 but < 45 kg/m2
Exclusion Criteria:
History or evidence of a secondary form of hypertension
History of stroke, TIA, heart failure, myocardial infarction, coronary bypass surgery PCI in the past 12 months
Pregnant or nursing women

Migraines
Inclusion Criteria:
Males or females > 18 years and able to give informed consent
History of migraine with or without aura for > 1 years and with > 3 and < 14 migraine days per month in the 3 months prior to screening
Exclusion Criteria:
Patient is pregnant or nursing
Patient was > 50 years of age at migraine onset

Arrive – Aspirin study

Inclusion Criteria for males:
Males aged 50 years and above with 2 or 3 risk factors

• Males aged 50 yrs or old
• Elevated cholesterol
• Current smoker( cannot be the only risk factor to qualify for the study)
• Low HDL cholesterol
• Current treatment  for HBP
• Positive family history of early CHD, by first degree relative, suffered myocardial infarction before the age of 60

Inclusion Criteria for Female:
Females aged 60 and above with 3 or more risk factors

• Elevated cholesterol
• Current smoker
• Low HDL cholesterol
• Elevated Bp
• Current treatment for hbp

• Positive family history of early CHD, by first degree relative, suffered myocardial infarction before the age of 60

Exclusion Criteria:

• Clinically history of CVD, MI, stroke, coronary artery or angioplasty or stenting, coronary artery bypass graft, relevant arrhythmias, or congestive heart failure.
• Diabetes
• Any medical condition, or psychiatric or substance abuse
• Child bearing women
• Gastric or duodenal ulcer, genitourinary causes, or other bleeding disorders
• Reflux esophagitis
•  On NSAIDS

Drug Naïve Type 2 Diabetes
Inclusion Criteria:
Males or Females > 18 and < 78 years of age and able to give informed consent
Must  have Type 2 Diabetes
Exclusion Criteria:
Patient has history of Type 1 Diabetes or history of Ketoacidosis
Patient is on a weight loss program and is not in the maintenance phase
